Private collections are becoming a real feature at Stamford Auction Rooms and our 14th April auction saw a fantastic collection of Ian Flemming first edition James Bond novels come under the hammer and achieve great results for the collector.
Topping the bill was lot 27, a hardback first edition, first printing of Diamonds are Forever complete with dust jacket which sold for £1,500 against an estimate of £400-£600, quickly followed by lot 28, a 1957 printing of Casino Royale, with dust jacket which sold just above the £400-£600 estimate for £700. Other notable editions were lot 26, a hardback, first edition, first printing of Dr No which sold for £600, Thunderball and Goldfinger, both first editions, which sold for £360 and £320 respectively
