INFORMATION FOR SELLING

SELLING

Sellers commission:
15% (PLUS VAT) of the hammer price, plus an £8.50 lotting fee (only applicable if the lot sells)

We do not charge anything for photography, advertising, insurance or unsold lot fees.

The Selling Process

Upon collection or delivery of your item to our saleroom, you will receive a receipt for the items you have consigned.

Those items are then catalogued and professionally photographed and allocated to the next suitable auction. For example, if you have consigned jewellery, they will be entered into the next available specialist jewellery auction.

Prior to the auction your items are entered into, you will then be sent a pre-sale advice by email (or post if elected to), which includes the description, sale date, lot number, estimates and any reserves set. We ask you to contact us at this point if there are any questions about your listings.

The lots will be listed on our own website, and also the UKs leading bidding platforms: the-saleroom.com, Easylive auctions and UK Auctioneers. They will be seen and bid on from people across the world, to give them the maximum exposure and to provide you with the best possible results.

You can attend the viewing of the items at our saleroom two days prior to the auction, and you can watch the auction live via our website on the day of the auction to see your lots sell should you wish.

After the auction, you will receive a post-sale advice via email (or post if elected) which will show you if your lots sold, how much for and the amount due to you after our deductions. We then prompt you to provide bank details.

Vendors Payment

Once we have received your bank details, we will perform a bank transfer into your nominated account. Cheques are posted upon request, and will incurr an admin and postage fee of £3 or instruct you to collect cash at the office should the amount be lower than £30. This will be done between 4-6 weeks post auction, provided we have been paid for the item (s). We will email a statement detailing the hammer price, commission deductions the next working day after the sale.

Unsold lots

If any of your items do not sell it is the responsibility of the vendor to contact us if they wish to collect the item. We may re-list the item at a lower estimate if the value of the lot is over £50, or donate the items to charity. PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY ITEMS LEFT AT THE PREMISES ANY LONGER THAN 7 DAYS POST SALE WILL BE DISPOSED OF. Storage charges or disposal fees may be applied when necessary, and deducted from any proceeds of sale.
