Charity Auction raises over £21,000 for Local and National charities
Stamford Auction Rooms in association with the Friends of Witham raised £21,386 in a charity auction at the Witham Hall Summer Ball last Saturday night. With eighteen lots held as a silent auction, the highlight of the evening was a live auction of just five lots.
Sophie Chapman, Senior Valuer and Auctioneer was at the rostrom, as the bidding took off for the first lot, a special day out for four children with English Master Mr Erskine-Naylor which sold for a magnificent £1,200. But it was the last lot of the night, a week’s holiday in a stunning Villa in the South of France, large enough for twelve and with an incredible infinity pool, that was the icing on the cake, selling for a fabulous £8,000.
Back for the first time in three years, the Witham Hall Summer Ball was a stunning event organised by the Friends of Witham to support two charities for the first time, this support will continue over the course of the next two years, perfect for a bi-annual event.
Carefully chosen the charities for the next two years are local charity ‘Don’t Lose Hope’, based in Bourne which supports people with mental health issues, providing professional counselling and help, as well as a community based Café and Garden, together with ‘Hearts and Minds’, a national charity which helps children and vulnerable adults in Hospital, Hospice and respite care with their innovative Clowndoctors.
