John Moore C.B.E., R.I., (British 20th century): a pair of watercolours, one titled Old Town Defences, Angles Sur L'Anglin, signed bottom right, the other of a church set in a mountainous landscape, signed bottom left, each 31by 53cm, in original oak frames and glazed 61 by 83cm, together with a letter written by John Moore to the original owners shortly before the purchase of the paintings in 1972.(3)
