A very large early 19th century Japanese Imari charger, the central blue and white roundel decorated with a Kinko (Qin Gao) with blue and red brick border, the outer area with white reserves painted with figures under trees with floating sphere, alternating with nesting cranes, and roundels with dragon chasing the flaming pearl interspersed and discs with scholastic symbols, the whole with intricate and decorated borders, the outside with scrolling foliage and lotus blossoms, four character mark to the base, 62cm diameter.
