A WWI medal group awarded to Pierre Raedmaekers comprising of the Croix de Guerre medal, Military Decoration 2nd class medal with palm, Yser campaign medal, 1914-1918 commemorative medal and the Victory medal. Pierre Raedmaekers was awarded the Croix de Guerre and Military Decoration for saving 35 men on the 25th October 1914 and bringing them safely back into the Belgian lines. In addition is a group of ephemera comprising of an original paper copy from the army awarding Pierre Raedmaekers with the Croix de Guerre and Military Decoration, a collection of newspaper cuttings, original photographs, letters, identity cards and other items.
