A pair of fine porcelain Minton moon flasks, with a blue celeste / turquoise ground, impressed Minton mark to base, attributed to William Mussill, circa 1875, depcting birds amidst flowers on one side, and butterflies the other, 26cm high, [William Mussill worked at Sèvres before coming to England in 1870 to work for Minton. He specialised in making sketches from nature, painting in a free style with bold impasto under the glaze, a technique known as the Barbotine style. He executed a number of special commissions for Royalty]
