An early 20th century French brooch, in the style of Cartier, modelled as two long tailed lovebirds in bright gold with cabouchon ruby eyes, their beaks touching, stood on a rose gold coloured prunus branch surrounded by cherry blossom, the centre of each bloom with a single ruby, with five diamonds surrounding and further ruby buds throughout, apparently unmarked but birds testing as at least 18ct, foliage at least 14ct 20.2g, 6.5 by 4.5cm.
