A Royal Warrant of Patent, hand written on vellum and granted to Samuel Fox of The Stocksbridge Works for 'Improvements in apparatus for softening and straightening steel wire and for cutting it into lengths suitable to form the ribs and stretchers of umbrellas' dated 1874, number 1484, complete with stamps and original wax seal in tin, all still attached, with original presentation box , the morocco leather cover with gilt tooled Royal insignia and with a booklet about Samuel Fox & Company Ltd, 1842-1967. Provenance: Vendors are direct descendants of Samuel Fox and this has been handed down through the family.s
