The desire for antique, rare and exquisite jewellery continues to be strong as shown at Stamford Auction Rooms specialist sale today with some fantastic results achieved.

Moonstones are becoming increasingly popular, and when mixed with a Victorian Jeweller's mastery they are irresistible. Each of the graduated oval stones in this stunning bracelet almost glowed with a fantastic schiller, taking it to five times its estimate of £80-£120, selling for £500.
Often seen as the golden era of jewellery craftsmanship, this Edwardian starburst seed-pearl, and emerald pendant brooch was no exception, and brought in fierce bidding taking it to a hammer price of £740.

For the romantics out there this was a stunning snake head ring, the two snakes signifying eternal love, emphasised with diamond set eyes, it soared over its £200-£400 estimate the hammer finally falling at £900.

Fire opals should draw the eye and this ring was no exception, with a radiance emanating from the stone, it gleamed, drawing commission, online and telephone bids, before finally selling sell over its £100-£200 estimate for £550.
